Mainetti India’s largest manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur, Chennai is the first of its kind to become PEER Platinum certified under the PEER v2 rating system in India. Mainetti India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Mainetti Group, the largest manufacturers and suppliers of hangers in the world, which employs more than 5,000 people across 49 countries. This facility can produce up to 300 million hangers a year. In addition to hangers, they also provide additional products for the fashion industry, like luxury handmade bags, garment covers, etc.

With their strong commitment to sustainability, this manufacturing unit procures 86% of their electricity needs from offsite renewable power and also through their own rooftop solar PV of 50 kW capacity. Through PEER and from the energy efficiency & renewable energy initiatives, Mainetti India (Sriperumbudur Unit) was able to achieve cost savings of INR 12 million ($ 166,000) and has mitigated 7 kilotons of CO2 emissions.

PEER helped Mainetti in bringing out the hidden value streams through the installation of metering and monitoring systems and also gave insights on strengthening their cybersecurity policies. By achieving PEER Platinum certification, this manufacturing facility demonstrates that it has set a global benchmark compared to its peers around the world through its clean, reliable and sustainable grid infrastructure.,
