PEER education courses provide a sustainable design and operating framework that enables stakeholders to work together to accelerate electricity system investment and improvement. There are three education opportunities to learn more about PEER.

PEER 101: Introduction to Sustainable Electricity and PEER
This free course will help you understand the importance of sustainable electricity and the resources available to achieve it. It will introduce PEER, Performance Excellence in Electricity Renewal, as a framework to change design, behavior and performance creating a reliable and sustainable supply of electricity.
A prerequisite to the advanced level courses, PEER Fundamentals provides an introduction to the PEER rating system with key concepts in electricity and sustainable power systems. The PEER Fundamentals course is an opportunity for electricity professionals to explore how microgrid architecture enables utilities, regulators, consumers, and the private sector to work together to accelerate electricity system investment and improvement, and learn how to maximize smart grid benefits for consumers and stakeholders alike. PEER Fundamentals is approximately 6 hours of on-line self-paced training on the PEER performance criteria.
Advanced PEER Curriculum
Below are advanced level courses that require one or more of the above courses as a prerequisite, particularly the PEER Fundamentals course. Each course is approximately 2 hours of on-line self-paced training.
PEER 301: PEER Assessment Process
This course shows how PEER Assessment (formerly known as PEER Screening) can determine PEER readiness, provide benchmarking results, a value/gap evaluation, and identify opportunities to improve sustainability. This course shows how GBCI currently offers a full PEER Assessment to our customers. The PEER Fundamentals course is a prerequisite. In addition, completion of the PEER 311 - PEER Energy Analysis course is recommended prior to taking this course.
PEER 311: PEER Energy Analysis
This course covers the PEER Energy Analysis (formerly known as PEER Microgrid 8760 Analysis) Tool, which supports the PEER Assessment process, project improvement planning, project conceptual design, and project certification.
Take these two advanced courses together and receive up to two hours of coaching support to take you even further in your understanding of PEER.
